India wins nail-biter against Australia in second T20I
In a thrilling encounter, India defeated Australia by 6 runs in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Sydney Cricket Ground. India batted first and posted a total of 164/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant half-century by Shikhar Dhawan and some quickfire runs by Hardik Pandya towards the end.
Australia started their chase well, with openers Aaron Finch and D'Arcy Short putting on a 56-run partnership. However, India's bowlers fought back, with Shardul Thakur taking three wickets in an over to put the hosts on the backfoot. Ashton Agar and Mitchell Starc tried to revive the Australian innings, but India's death bowling was spot-on as they restricted Australia to 158/7 in their 20 overs.
India's win in this match means that the series is now level at 1-1, with the third and final T20I set to take place on Friday, December 11. The Indian team will be hoping to carry the momentum from this win into the final match and secure a series victory against Australia.
